Meet the Staff: Physical Therapt Department
Jade -Oceanside Physical Therapist
Jade is orginally from Rancho Cucamonga, CA. She has been in the San Diego area for the last ten years, and graduated with her Bachelor of Science Degree in Kinesiology from Cal State San Marcos. From there, Jade received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from St. Augustin for Health Sciences, also located in San Marcos, CA. Jade is truly fascinated by the way the body works, and after several sports injuries and 4 knee surgeries, she knew she wanted to work in Physical Therapy. She has taken all of the required courses to get her Manual Therapy Certification, and plans to take that exam in the near future. In her free time, Jade enjoys volleyball, golf, spending time with friends, and going to the beach. She is brand new to the SDSR family, but she tells us she is enjoying it so far!
What Jade Loves Most About SDSR:
I love SDSR for it’s amazing staff, and the wonderfully comprehensive approach to healing people!
We even managed to get our hands on one of the photos Jade just took to be hung up in the lobby!
Julie-Mission Valley Physical Therapist
Julie grew up in a small town called Ridgecrest, where her father worked as a mathematician for the China Lake Naval Base. She spent a lot of her extra time on things like skiing, tennis, basketball, biking, and other sports! In high school, going up for a lay-up in a basketball game, her patella was dislocated.Julie was sure she was ruined, until she was introduced to Physical Therapy! There, a PT was born! Julie went to Fresno State University, and received her BS in Exercise Physiology, while minoring in Gerontology and Spanish! She became a Shiatsu Therapist to improve her hands-on skills, and had her own business throughout all of her schooling. She tarted out working in a county hospital doing rotations in various units, while finishing her Masters Degree. After living in the deserts of California, Julie decided San Diego sunshine was just what she needed, and moved here 13 years ago. She has worked in several settings over the years, with post-stroke, prosthetics, sports, TMJ, and neurlogical patients, and she loves a challenge! She loves her family, especially her daughter, Ava, traveling, reading, the outdoors, learning languages, and anything creative. She has even been managing and producing a show over the last five years! The quote she lives by? “Be the change you wish to see in the world.” -Mahatma Ghandi
What Julie Loves Most About SDSR:
I love SDSR, because it is filled with people with a common passion; loving people, solving challenging problems, multi-tasking, and the desire to make a difference in patients lives! I also love the daily smiles, teamwork, and caring way the staff makes patients feel right at home.
That’s all for now, but stay tuned for info later this week about the 12 Days of Christmas giveaways going on at both offices for the month of December! So many great prizes, and so many fun ways to get tickets to win them!
See you at your next appointment!!
